In The Garden
“… And He walks with me
And He talks with me
And He tells me I am His own
And the joy we share as we tarry there
None other has ever known…”
– C. Austin Miles
Everything about her was tranquil
Her voice was a whisper in a chorus of noise
Her manner was refuge from the thunder
Her smile was simplicity amidst the needlessly complex
If you spent time with her
You were better for the visit
And her sweetness lingered with you
Long after you parted
So if you find yourself missing her
With tear-filled eyes and broken hearts
It is no more mysterious than the sadness
Of a beautiful silent sunset as it disappears
All too soon
Yes, everything about her was tranquil
The tranquility of a beautiful spirit
Who profoundly touched our collective heart
And, so, we are saddened by her loss
But we are consoled by the lingering calm
She leaves behind
And – the beauty is – that we can re-acquire
That peacefulness merely by thinking of her
That is her legacy to us all
– Dan Cohen
She spoke with her heart
Words just got in the way
Her eyes could speak volumes
So there was little to say
She lived life discreetly
Yet she loved you completely
So it’s difficult saying goodbye
Her kindness was real
She was substance, not style
If mercy was a single step
Then she could trek for miles
Her humility was bonafide
Gentleness personified
It’s difficult saying goodbye
Some lives are percussive
Deafening skins and bones
Hers was soft angelic strings
In deep harmonic tones
We love her immensely
We’ll miss her intensely
It’s difficult saying goodbye
